- Abstract
Under influence of fire one of the most significant properties of concrete – ability to effectively withstand compressive loads – changes completely. When concrete is heated, both physical and chemical processes take place, and their negative results depend on the temperature level, speed of change and exposure duration, moisture content in concrete, its composition and structure, aggregates and characteristics of the contact area, production technology of structures, its size, shape of the cross section, load type, etc. The article analyses the influence of cements type CEM I, CEM II, CEM III on the fire resistance of concrete under conditions of the standard fire curve. For research purposes the one-side heating method and volumetric heating were used. Different overheating curves were obtained after concrete specimens were exposed to one-side and volumetric heating.
