- Abstract
The article discusses the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), that enhances FDA authority in handling improvement, prevention and response to food safety problems. It says that the new law served as the foundation for a modernized food safety system that allows everyone in the global food chain responsible for food safety. It relates that FSMA requires registered facilities to develop food safety plans through hazard analysis and preventive controls.
