The article focuses on the history of Jewish communities of the U.S. and growth of benevolence for Jews across the U.S. during the World War I, specifically in San Diego, California. It discusses establishment of Jewish benevolent groups in San Diego including American Joint Distribution Committee, The Hebrew Loan Association, Ladies Hebrew Aid Society and Women's Auxiliary of the Jewish Welfare Board.
