- Abstract
The article deals with Friedrich Nietzsche's engagement with Russian nihilism. It quotes from the work "The Development of Nihilism" by Nicolai Karlowitsch and an anonymous review in the magazine "Das Ausland". Nietzsche discusses the question of whether crime and immoral behavior are necessary for social progress and whether "bad people" can bring about a change in moral norms through their actions. Russian nihilism is considered as an example of a positive transformation of political and social structures and plays an important role in Nietzsche's concept of nihilism. The text refers to various sources and references on the topic of nihilism in Russia but does not mention any specific content aspects. It is speculated that the work "The Development of Nihilism" could be a possible source for Nietzsche's philosophy of nihilism and that Nietzsche may have referred to Gerbel-Embach's report.
