- Abstract
The article discusses a study which established the extent of the seasonal variation of the Musk Duck Biziura lobata, which has secondary sexual traits that are absent among other ducks. A captive male Musk Dusk was photographed each month for a period of 16 months, and quantitative analysis of the photographs showed seasonal changes in the area of the lobe, with a nearly threefold difference between the smallest and largest measurement. The variation in size appeared to be positively correlated with the display of times of individual Musk Ducks.
