- Authors
Ouellette, Laurie
- Abstract
The article discusses former Alaska governor and U.S. vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in relation to right-wing media. The author suggests that Palin has become prominent in pop culture due to her identification as an outsider and "real" American. The author examines suggestions that Palin's media presence has a financial motive and compares Palin to former Republican governor and vice president Spiro T. Agnew. Specific topics include representation of Palin on the television program "Saturday Night Live" ("SNL"), her role as a commentator on the Fox News channel, her book "Going Rogue: An American Life," and her reality television series "Sarah Palin's Alaska."
