- Abstract
The article presents a study, financed by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), that investigates methods of improving the program of ballistic evidence of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN), in the U.S. It presents ways on how researchers conducted and gathered data. They discovered that delays in ballistic evidence processing are the greatest threat of NIBIN and their recommendations of improving it.
