- Abstract
The article discusses a study that determined whether disinfection practices at eight surveillance magnetic resonance (MR) units in five Nebraska hospitals were sufficient to prevent transmission of healthcare-associated infection (HAI) causing pathogens on MR imaging equipment. Topics discussed include the inappropriate use of antibiotics, contraction of all HAIs regardless of a pathogen's antibiotic resistance, and the role of portable radiography in HAIs among intense care unit patients.
