The article explores the structure of plant photosystem I (PSI) and its complexes which form a supercomplex with light-harvesting complex (LHC). The PSI reaction center complex functions with the electron transport chain (ETC) harbored by the principal subunits PsaA and PsaB. The light-harvesting complex is considered the most prominent addition to the PSI structure with all structures containing three carotene molecules.
