- Title
The Prevention and Treatment of Restenosis in The Era of Drug-eluting Stent.
- Authors
Zhang Min-zhou
- Abstract
The article discusses the application of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for the treatment of postoperational restenosis (RS). Clinical trials show that drug-eluting stents can reduce the rate of RS but it can also lead to complications like thrombosis. Experimental studies have proved that some Chinese drugs, such as hirudin, ligustrazine, baicalin and emodin can suppress the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC).
