- Title
Neue EU-Initiative zur Verbraucherstreitbeilegung.
- Abstract
The Journal for Conflict Management reports on various initiatives for consumer dispute resolution. New Zealand has launched a new online platform for out-of-court dispute resolution for .nz domains. Disputes can be resolved through "e-negotiation, negotiation chat, and mediation via live video conference". The Public Transport Arbitration Board (söp) in Germany has successfully resolved consumer disputes despite the pandemic. The annual report of söp shows how fluctuations in business volume were managed through agile management and digital processes. The EU Commission is preparing a report on the implementation of EU legislation on alternative dispute resolution and conducting a public consultation. Additionally, the EU is planning the digitization of justice and facilitating the use of video conferences for cross-border hearings.
