- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 26-year-old woman who was suffering from fever and headache. After some day she developed hallucinations and generalized tonic seizures. After various tests it was found that peripheral afferent stimulation failed to show sensory afferent inhibition response at inter-stimulus intervals in the range of 15-25 milli seconds. It was concluded that N-methyl D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) play an important role in excitatory synaptic transmission and plasticity.
