- Abstract
The article focuses on the methods of improving the effectiveness of criminal courts by judges with emphasis to the drug courts of the U.S. A study regarding the working of drug courts was conducted by the Urban Institute, the Research Triangle Institute and the Center for Court Innovation wherein result of the drug courts on the defendants was analyzed. Information on the elements of the procedural justice with reference to the book "Why People Obey the Law," by Tom Tyler is also presented.
