The essay discusses the relationship between indigeneity and climate change. Particular focus is given to United Nations (UN) policies on climate change and human rights. According to the author, indigenous peoples have the right to be free of fear of catastrophes resulting from climate change. Topics include the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).
