The article presents a study on the association of the mitochondrial dysfunction in the neurodegenerative diseases and cancer in the U.S. It highlights the contribution of the dysfunctional mitochondria to Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease and cancer. Mitochondria is important for the homeostatic balance of the cell.
