- Abstract
In recent years, particularly since 1990, the traditional raw material of cotton has been joined by man-made staple fibers, the output of which has been rising rapidly. Rieter therefore takes a close interest in the specific processing properties of manmade fibers; machines are adapted accordingly or configured flexibly. In the context of the cooperative relationship between Rieter Machine Works Ltd. in Winterthur/Switzerland and Reliance Industries Ltd. in India, the processing properties of a Reliance micropolyester quality have been examined in a joint research project with Reutlingen Technical College, and the development of these fiber types supported.
