- Abstract
Focuses on the examination of character evolution and biogeography within a phylogenetic context. Shift of the emphasis in plant systematics to chemical and molecular data; Correlation of reproductive isolation with ecological and/or morphological divergence; Hypothesis in the biosystematic era that annual members are more highly intersterile than perennials, suggesting that reproductive isolation evolces more rapidly in annuals than perennials.
