- Abstract
This document discusses the value of using sentinel lymph node (SLN) PET/CT detection in thyroid carcinoma. SLN biopsy is a common procedure in solid cancers, but it is not commonly used in thyroid cancer. However, detecting lymph node metastases is important for determining the appropriate treatment and prognosis in thyroid cancer. The document highlights a recent study that demonstrated the feasibility and effectiveness of using a new PET/CT tracer for SLN visualization in thyroid cancer patients. The study found that the PET/CT tracer performed well in detecting SLNs, and it opens up a debate on the diagnostic and prognostic value of PET/CT tracers in thyroid cancer patients.
