- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses the benefits of natural orifice translumenal endoscopic surgery (NOTES). NOTES is a surgical procedure in which visualization, dissection, and organ retraction is performed with endoscopic instruments through the natural orifices of the body. The authors say that compared with laparoscopic surgery, NOTES results in less postoperative pain and adhesion formation; and in NOTES, incisional hernias and associated wound infections are avoided.
