Title
Time for the epigenome.
Abstract
The article reports on the International Human Epigenome Consortium (IHEC), a project which aims to unravel the complexity of genetic regulation and biodiversity. It recalls how the launch of IHEC was inspired by the inquiry of oncologist Ronald DePinho, and the observed inability of large-scale genome projects to crack the code of biodiversity. It notes the biologists' enthusiasm for the IHEC as reflected by their comparison of the project to the physicists' Large Hadron Collider.
