- Abstract
The article reports on the successful global eradication of rinderpest, an infectious viral disease found in cattle. Chris Oura, the head of the Non-Vesicular Disease Reference Laboratory Group at the Institute for Animal Health, remarks the total wipe out of rinderpest as an achievement for the veterinary community. It mentions the formulation of a vaccine that fights the disease in the 1980s. Furthermore, it explores the global effort to eradicate the disease in 1994.
