- Title
US agencies under scrutiny over high-risk programmes.
- Abstract
The article discusses the scrutiny of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by a U.S. congressional watchdog group named the Government Accountability Office (GAO). The GAO identifies high-risk programs in need of oversight or reform. A report released in January 22, 2009 criticizes both the FDA and EPA for lack of foreign drug oversight and chemical risk evaluations, respectively.
