- Abstract
This study aims at identifying the role of community participation in the development of school education from the viewpoint of public school principals and educational supervisors in Mafraq governorate. The sample of the study consists of 390 (329 school principals and 61 educational supervisors) distributed among the directorates of education in Mafraq governorate: Mafraq Qasaba District, North-East Badia District and North-West Badia Districts. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was developed consisting of 47 paragraphs divided into four areas: the vision and general objectives of the educational process, school administration, school activities and financing. The results show low participation of the community in the development of school education from the viewpoints of the public school principals and educational supervisors. The results also show that there were statistically significant differences between the estimates due to job titles, but there were no effects due to the level of education of the participants or the directorate of education they are affiliated with.
