The article examines the role of exercise in the rehabilitation process during treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Research has shown that resistance training, especially with the arm muscles, has been helpful in the recovery process for COPD patients. Endurance training such as prolonged walking has also aided rehabilitation.
