The author discusses poet Harold Bloom's opinions on the poetic influence of psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud, based on Bloom's 1982 book "Agon." Themes such as envy, guilt, and love in poetry are discussed, as well as Bloom's criticism of Romanticism. Comparisons of 20th century British and American literature are discussed, as well as Bloom's impression of Modernism.
