- Title
Beyond a Cutout World: Ethnic Humor and Discursive Integration in South Park.
- Authors
Sienkiewicz, Matt; Marx, Nick
- Abstract
An essay is presented which focuses on the ironic use of ethnic humor on the television program "South Park." The authors suggest that the use of racist humor on the program must be considered in context to other mass media. They comment on the depiction of stereotypes on the program and how they challenge political correctness. They note how the program's production allows its creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, to comment on news events through the program.
