- Abstract
The article analyzes the role of International Accounting Topics in the business curriculum. In 1966, it was recommended by the Committee on International Accounting of the American Accounting Association that such a course or seminar on international accounting be included in accounting curricula of institutions of higher learning. The information for the present study was gathered on the need for, content of, and state of the art of international accounting education in the U.S. business curricula in choosing accounting chairmen of American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business as the population for the study. The article presents in detail the information related to the methodology used, general need for teaching of international accounting and related response from two groups of international respondents. It also answers questions related to the place, people and process of teaching. In addition, it carries recommendations given by the chairmen for subjects that could be covered at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
