Its early identification is important, including the presence of harmful oral habits, so that better eating, breathing and speech conditions, harmony, and easy oral balance, contributing to a better quality of life for the patient. The present aim was to highlight the importance of preventive and interceptive treatment for AOM in primary and/or mixed dentition, seeking a better quality of life for the patient. It is concluded that early diagnosis contributes to the success of orthodontic therapy, in this case, the interceptive treatment of AOM before common age provides better functional and aesthetic conditions, which in pre-adolescence and adolescence, interferes with their social life, self-esteem and quality of life, thus, preventive, and interceptive treatments are able to prevent future complications.
