- Abstract
The objective of this work was to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment of Neuro-occlusal Rehabilitation (NOR) with the Technique of Planas Direct Tracks in the correction of posterior crossbite. This case refers to a female patient, 4 years old, diagnosed with left unilateral posterior crossbite and midline deviation. The treatment elected was NOR, which involves the removal of premature contacts of teeth cross-aside in order to promote deprogramming of the stomatognathic system and the restoration of neuromuscular activity. To do so, it was followed the technical protocol of Direct Planas of slopes with tracks on a slope using resin, which were installed on the upper teeth of the cross side. Thus, with the correct excitement of neuromuscular activity, culminating in the functional balance of the stomatognathic system, After 29 days of treatment, there was a correction of posterior crossbite and after 2 years The patient was observed and classified as stable. It is concluded that the Neuro-occlusal Rehabilitation with Direct Planas slopes was an effective correction of posterior crossbite.
