The article discusses a study which developed animal models of Hirschsprung disease that carried mutations of endothelin receptor type B gene. The study examined auditory brainstem response (ABR) and the cochlea. It notes that the severity of aganglionosis phenotype was modulated by resistant genes in the F344 genetic background.
