- Authors
Clark, S. Stuart; Cunningham, Dugan; McEvoy, Rob
- Abstract
The article examines the economic relationship of United States and Australia. It mentions that the U.S. is Australia's biggest trade and investment partner and there are 300,000 Australians living and working in the U.S. Their important economic relationship is also reflected by the Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement that was signed in 2004 making trade between the two nations more accessible. It provides an overview of the common law rules that will be applied when attempts are made to recognize a U.S. judgment which imposes a personal obligation on the defendant in Australian courts.
