- Abstract
The article looks back at the court-packing crisis faced by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1937. It highlights the proposal of then U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt for the reorganization of the federal judiciary, as well as proposed alternatives to the proposal including Congressional override of Supreme Court decisions, advisory opinions, voting rules for legislations, limitations on tenure of justices, compulsory retirement, judicial pensions, and restrictions on appellate jurisdiction.
