- Abstract
A hematúria é um dos principais achados durante a realização do exame de urina e os eritrócitos encontrados nesse exame podem apresentar diferentes formas, sendo essas alterações morfológicas denominadas de dismorfismo eritrocitário. Em medicina humana, a avaliação morfológica das hemácias é realizada de forma rotineira e é utilizada para auxiliar na localização da lesão no trato urinário. O acantócito é um tipo de dismorfismo eritrocitário e sua presença na urina é considerada um achado sensível e específico para glomerulopatias em pacientes humanos. Alguns estudos também comparam as técnicas de microscopia utilizadas na sua identificação, apontando a microscopia de contraste de fase como mais eficiente. Na medicina veterinária existem poucos estudos relacionados à identificação do dismorfismo eritrocitário e sua utilização como forma de diagnóstico de glomerulopatias. Sendo assim, com estas fotomicrografias objetivou-se relatar a possibilidade de identificação de acantocitúria na urina de cães com hematúria oriundos da rotina espontânea de um hospital veterinário escola, tanto pela microscopia de campo claro, quanto pela de contraste de fase. Nas fotomicrografias em microscopia óptica de campo claro (Sequência 1) e microscopia óptica de contraste de fase (Sequência 2), é possível observar a presença de eritrócitos com alterações morfológicas compatíveis com acantócitos. Segundo diversos autores, essas células são caracterizadas pelo formato de anel e pela presença de protusões em seu citoplasma, semelhantes às identificadas nas imagens. Embora tenha-se demonstrado que é possível identificar dismorfismos eritrocitários em urinas de cães utilizando microscopia óptica de campo claro ou de contraste de fase, ainda são necessárias novas pesquisas que correlacionem a acantocitúria com a presença de glomerulopatias nos animais.
