- Abstract
Neo-colonialism, which has not been debated except by Marxists, anti-capitalists and anti-globalists, is not considered as neither a crime against humanity or recognised or condemned in the international arena. If it is accepted that there has never been a post-colonial period because neo- colonialism is the continuation of the colonialism, then condemnation of colonialism but not the neo-colonialism seems paradoxical. Different than classical colonialism, neo-colon ialism involves indirect exploitation and voluntary cooperation, accordingly it lacks resistance. Consequently, it is difficult to determine the elements of crime in the neo-colonialism process. At least in the short run, it is almost impossible for the international communily to recognise neo-colonialism as a crime against humanity. This is because the exploited is not aware of the exploitation, current world system is convenient to exploitation, and the decision makers about crimes are under the control of the strong states.
