- Title
MATHEMATICAL APPROACHES TO THE STUDY OF POWER IN GROUP DECISION MAKING: A REVIEW.
- Authors
Steckel, Joel H.
- Abstract
This paper attempts to synthesize published mathematical approaches to the study of power in a variety of disciplines from the viewpoint of consumer research. We demonstrate the graph and game theory approaches, Coleman's theory of collective decisions, and weighted linear models. The locus is on explanation and discussion of why these approaches have not contributed greatly to consumer research. The paper identifies some directions for future research.
