- Abstract
The article discusses a randomized, controlled animal experiment which found that acupuncture-induced oxygen therapy inhibits oxyradical injury and improves microcirculation following brain injury. The researchers observed improvement of pathological changes such as hemorrhage, edema and cell necrosis. Outcome measures revealed a reduction in malondialdehyde (MDA) content, increased superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, decrease in nitric oxide synthase (NOS) activity, and reduced hemorrheological indices.
