- Abstract
The article titled "Relationship between acaricide management and Rhipicephalus microplus resistance in sub-tropical cattle farms in Ecuador" analyzes the relationship between acaricide management and Rhipicephalus microplus tick resistance in sub-tropical cattle farms in Ecuador. The sanitary management practices in 61 farms were evaluated, and resistance to the acaricides amitraz, ivermectin, and alphacypermethrin was determined. The results showed high levels of resistance to all three acaricides, as well as the presence of multi-resistance in 67% of the farms. An association was found between certain management practices and acaricide resistance. It is concluded that it is necessary to implement a comprehensive tick management strategy that includes management practices, product rotation, continuous education, and training for farmers.
