- Authors
Tyldesley, Joyce
- Abstract
The author discusses Egyptian queen Nefertiti's bust that was carved more than three thousand years ago in the Amarna workshop of the Chief of Works, Thutmose, and is currently displayed at Berlin's Neues Museum. Topics include a description of the bust, its identification based on its unique headdress, the bust's missing left eye, and whether it was created as part of a larger statue. The possible use of the bust as an artist's model to guide Thutmose's workers is also considered.
