A letter is presented which argues that for "value" generation, "value analysis" and "value-based purchasing" to be realized in all facets of health and social care in Iran, better outcomes, rigorous policies and practices should be enacted. Topics discussed include the need to deliver satisfaction to both care-providers and receivers, the application of relative value units in healthcare, and research from the National Institute of Health Research.
