Abstract
The article focuses on the October 2009 release of "Karmic Koala," a package consisting of Ubuntu 9.10 software that supports Amazon's EC2 cloud computing service. It says that the release features management tools for energy consumption control in data centers as well as incorporates an open source tool. It also reveals the plan of the distributor Canonical to update the operating system of the netbook edition as well as Ubuntu's upcoming summit in Barcelona, Spain.
