- Title
A Novel Approach to Statistical Design of Experiments in the Malaysian Latex Glove Industry.
- Authors
NG, C. S.; LIM, H. M.; AMIR HASHIM, M. Y.
- Abstract
See Toh's report on 'Statistical Designed Experiments in Rubber Compounding' filled the gap in the literature on this technique, detailing specific experimental work on full factorial design, fractional factorial design, and rotatable central composite design for rubber product manufacturing. In the latex technology area, Ng, et al.2 gives specific details on the use of design of experiment (DOX) in latex compounding. Despite these authors' efforts in promoting the use of DOX adoption of their techniques has not been encouraging. To bridge the gap between theory and practice, the authors described the detailed steps in DOX practice, and describe how R statistical computing language and environment allow wider adoption by practitioners. Emphasis has been placed on graphical presentation and wider scope involving equipment, latex types, and compounding ingredients.
