- Title
STRIPPED: CONGRESS AND JURISDICTION STRIPPING.
- Authors
Heise, Nicole A.
- Abstract
The article presents a study on the relation of U.S. Congress' decision to remove jurisdiction with political ideology, case filings and economic strength. It states that data used include instances on the removal of jurisdiction between 1943 and 2004, and civil court cases from the annual reports of the U.S. Judicial Conference Administrative Director. Results show that stripping of the jurisdiction is a response of the congress to the delays and costs of litigation against the government.
