- Title
"For each seem'd either": Free Will and Predestination in Paradise Lost.
- Authors
Walker, Julia M.
- Abstract
The article analyzes the poem "Paradise Lost" by John Milton. Particular attention is given to the concept of free will and predestination within the poem based on Milton's approach to "absolute truth: and the choices of Adam and Eve. The author suggests that Milton was conflicted as both a theologian and artist and realist, which she analyzes in the poem through the form of the verb "seems."
