- Abstract
The article provides a close textual reading of the Spanish novel "Don Quijote," by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, focusing on how chapters sex and seven in Part II provide references to the Jewish Sabbath. It considers the Old Testament biblical story of manna that fell from the heavens to feed the exiled Israelites on their flight out of Egypt led my Moses as the beginnings of Sabbath rest practices.
