- Abstract
The article reports on a research conducted by Benoît Kornmann and colleagues at the University of California in San Francisco, California, regarding a powerful approach to understand the character of the molecular transport junctions. It starts with pinning down the proteins that are involved in the junction. Accordingly, they designed a genetic screen to determine the proteins that were involved in connecting the mitochondria and the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) in yeast.
