- Abstract
The article discusses the study which shows a voltage-coupled conformational rearrangement of translocase of the inner membrane (TIM23) complex's central channel component. The protein transfer from the translocase of the outer membrane (TOM) to TIM23 affects TOM22, an outer-membrane receptor, the regulatory protein Tim21 and the inner-membrane receptor Tim50. Result shows that the Tim23 forms channels in model membranes with electrophysiological properties which is similar to TIM23 complex.
