- Title
Long-Term Outcome of Individuals with Borderline Thrombocytopenia.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the risk of developing autoimmune diseases among the patients with asymptomatic low platelet count affected with an immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). Borderline thrombocytopenia causes systemic autoimmune disease making the diagnosis difficult for secondary immune thrombocytopenia from ITP. The article also discusses the patients with severe bleeding and significantly low platelet counts are being treated based on expert opinion instead of randomized control trials.
