- Abstract
The article discusses methods for teaching engineering in an elementary school context through the use of the book "The Handiest Things in the World," written by Andrew Clements and photographed by Raquel Jaramillo and "Timeless Thomas: How Thomas Edison Changed Our Lives," by Gene Barretta. It addresses the Common Core State Standard's requirement for literature in scientific classes, as well as notes the importance of engaging students with engineering from an early age.
