- Title
Math Anxiety.
- Abstract
The article reports on a study conducted at the University of Chicago, Illinois which shows that math performances of female students are affected by the math anxiety felt by their female elementary school teachers. It mentions that the performance of boys, on the other hand, was not related to the math anxiety of their teachers. Sian Beilock, associate psychology professor at the University of Chicago says that math-anxious teachers push students to believe the idea that they are not as good as boys at math which in turn affects their performances.
