- Authors
Brown, Patrick L.; Abell, Sandra K.
- Abstract
The article focuses several perspectives about cultural diversity among elementary students who study science in the U.S. Cultural perspectives are said to affect the students' ability to learn science, which involve cultural heritage, religious beliefs, and family background. They are believed to challenge students whose experiences are different from the typical ways of learning. However, such students are believed to develop authentic science authentications through hands-on, minds-on nature of inquiry and through diverse approaches to scientific reasoning.
